I used to jig the west side of the sound the Bremerton ferry terminal/marina used to be fairly good in the winter.

I haven't done the Squid dance really at all this year at the pier, and would be surprised if anybody was still squidding it seems late in the season to be doing so but that is my opinion. Most people set the lights up just north of of the second cleaning bay on north side of the pier, that is the one that that has the poster of the fish caught in the area and the birds that will be cussing at if they decide to chase your gear. The south side after the last cleaning bay can also be a good spot in the past. Key word I think is in the past. Nice to hear that you saw bait... I've been told Seattle is usually going to be better and the squid will be bigger but the water is more polluted.

Pier 86 has 2 squid seasons... October through early January, and a small one around May (though the May one has only small squids).
