So by Noon hit Edmonds pier in a GREAT Opening day! Sunny, Light Winds from the north-northwest and half of the time flat. Crowded for a ling opener. and 70 degrees and sunburn! Lots of tourists. MOST TO ALL LINGS were Legal But 2-3! saw 12-13 fish caught and one cabezon at 19 IBS. saw fish anywhere from 18-30 inches. NO bait what so ever but big perch were schooling up against the pilings. I got a 29 Lingcod on a 7-9 inch powerbait eel double BARBLESS Hooks. and missed one before that. Before leaving hooked on a frozen my friend gave me and WHAM! I thought it was a ling for how hard it fought but then it got me in to the pilings. After flipping the bail it came out, about 1 1/2 pound copper rockfish. A Good wait to start a Lingcod opener!
