Dropped pots off whidbey at 5am and went to troll the west side of posession bar. Saw a couple fish hit and heard on the radio of a few fish. Had a solid take down just after high slack but no fish on. Went to pull pots and did great with 16 keepers for 4 pots. Put the pots back and went to Pt No Pt for the outgoing tide. Had a good fish on trolling in 90' of water with 80' of cable out just west of the point using a silver horde tailwagger spoon in green. However the fish got off after a decent fight. After reeling the gear in I found the hook was COMPLETELY GONE from the swivel! This was a new lure in the package from Outdoor Emporium and must not have had the hook crimped on all the way and a head shake from our only King of the day knocked it off. I never noticed due to the fact that the eye of the hook is covered bye the small hootchie on the end. I looked at my other tailwagger spoon purchased at the same time and sure enough NOT A FULL CRIMP! The lure must work good, but for all you out there check your hooks before fishing them. No more fish after that. Spent about 6-7hrs total. Went back to get my crab pots to finish my limits of crab and found someone had STOLEN 1 of my pots! It was definetly not pulled under because my other 3 pots were up with no problem and I run 2 floats on each pot. Also the tide was getting lower, not higher. I searched all over the location makred on my GPS as well. My 3 other pots had really no crab in them as well. Someone likely pulled them and took my crab, and one of my pots. Whoever does this kind of crap is a real piece on shit! I was totally legal with leaded line so the was way to foul in anyones props as well. I am sure the person who stole it will be cursed with bad fishing luck for the next 10 years. Likely the same kind of guy that throws his garbage in the water too.
