Did not get a chance to write report for last Sunday, so this is for both last Sunday and today. Fished for pinks from my boat, limited both days. Sunday only took about 45 minutes and only lost 2 before limiting. Today I got a later start and it took about 3 1/2 hours with losing 5 or 6 before getting my limit. It is always fun trying to net the fish and fight it at the same time. Had one swim around the boat 4 times before I finally netted it. Had lots of jumps in the air. Both days I chased down the schools, casting the tiny pink buzz bombs in the schools of pinks.
Last pink season I did not have a boat and was river fishing, however with a boat and fishing the salt, I have learned that pinks actually taste dam good on the bbq. I tried bbq pinks from the river and did not care for them, so I would just smoke them. From the saltwater they taste much better. I bonk the fish and bleed it(cut it's gills, both sides) and let it bleed for about 10 minutes then I gut it and put it on ice, packing the inside of fish with ice. Well worth taking care of your catch. Of coarse the smoker is also filled right now, but I will no longer only smoke my pinks.
I didn't get pics of todays catch, but I took pics of Sundays limit with my son in the middle. He got to go on his first boat ride later Sunday evening.
