Fished Sekiu Tue. evening, Wen. morning and evening and Thur. morning. We came home with 6 pinks and one 12 lb Silver. Released a silver around the same size and too many shakers to count. Fishing was not good. Pinks are almost gone and silvers are not there yet. (they hope it is yet and not already gone). Got my 85 year old father in-law visiting from Texas some fish but it was not crazy good I like I hoped for.
We fished flasher w/coho killer Splatter back green and army truck with smelly jelly. Fished from 200 to 600 feet of water down 20 to 90 feet Most fishing 350 to 500 ft 40 to 70 down. Everyone was saying the same thing.

I would have to strongly disagree with you fishing freak. I've been fishing Sekui for over 20 years and we fish 450-700 out in shipping lanes and do better than most who fish in close. Most the hook nose are running out deep. Most the fish in closer are resident fish. Still to early, but fishing should be good when they open it on the 19th for nates.

Have to agree with sharpshooter, most of our silvers at seiku have been out in deeper water, that said, we've hit them in 200 ft, working out to the deeper water. At 50 to 100 ft. at seiku you will def. hit kelp or free floating kelp pieces ,resulting in lost time clearing terminal gear. We've avoided Seiku for silvers this year so far as reports haven't been that good for coho from Olson's resort reports, and they usually are more optomistic about numbers. Bob R

Need rain! Not much going on in Puget Sound either. Fished Shipwreck and Possesion this week, nothing going on. I fished Sekiu last week of July and did well with 6 chinooks. Also Pinks and 10-12 Silvers but they were all wild! The old story that the Silvers will run early in a Pink year, cause they follow the Pinks, aint true this year. Need rain! I'm sure they are out there.
