I met Glen and Cami with Cami’s Dad, Dave, at the dock shortly after 6am. We prepared and were off to the races. We trolled around in up to 500 feet of water with the downrigger any where from 24-100 feet of water. It was slow. Fog came rolling in after a couple hours and stayed for quite awhile. We picked up lots of shakers and 2 adult coho. One was on a deep 6 with a Irish crème about 30 pulls back I think and the other on a cookies and crème on the downrigger but I don’t know how many feet it was down. We could not get anything on the Wannafish A Lure Coho Mojo, even though Glen said it was the killer lure before I got there. That was it for salmon for us. Then we went bottom fishing. It was so good. We went to the kelp beds east of Slip Point. I made 2 jigs just for fishing here and the first drop I brought up a ling cod. It was just a shame not to keep them. They were big enough to be keepers in Area 4 but we were in 5. I caught 3 lings (released), 1 big Cabezon, black rock fish and kelp green lings. We came back and Barney (slamonslair) cooked us deep fried bottom fish which was excellent, and salad, pears he canned, and fish taco that took my breath away (cough, cough). Thank you Barney. It was an excellent day.
