For those of you who are looking to pick up some winter crab, I'd advise against the Hat/Gedney Island area. We had planned to chase some blackmouth on the race track while the pots soaked. However, it seems that the commercials had set pots throughout the entire area as well. We did manage two barely legal keepers after sorting through a bunch of undersized males, females and softshell dungies. As a side note, the bait seems to have left the area, taking the blackmouth with them. All we could muster was one shaker to the boat.
