Charter boat. Fishing from 0500hrs to 1200hrs.Wild Chinook Salmon. And Wild Chinook Salmon. So We had to release it. Came back to Edmonds empty-handed. Would not recommend it to anyone. You pay money - and no fish. Sucks. It's not a good business if you ask me. Not at all. I know that fishing is not about catching. It's about fishing. But if you pay $160.00 for the trip you gotta have something in return. Sorry but 4 of us had Very BAD experience. To all captains of charter boats- I would recommend to have some kind of back up plan. Buy some frozen fish in store, so in the end of fishing trip like we had that day- give it to people, one fish per person, just to make them happy a little. I'll never ever will call or contact your business again. EVER!!!.

I think I know which charter it is you used and I agree the $160.00 is steeeep (and I assume that is per person), but I've been skunked on a Westport charter, and another charter service in Depoe Bay Oregon. One of the Oregon trips was really frustrating as I had paid $120.00 for 8 hours and we spent maybe 30 to 40 minutes before the captain decides to turn back because of weather issues. I was fine with that but the fact we didn't a refund or much of a refund was what sucked.

What really bites with the charter you went with - if it is who I think it is... they sometimes will wander right around in front near the pier and that might be about 1/2 to 1/3rd of the trip. Other times you don't see them. My sources were saying that fish were to be had at Pt. No Point - why didn't they go there... or Jefferson Head? At least you got wilds.

Could always have my Oregon story. Catch the biggest king you ever have caught.... and it is 2 days after Chinook had ended. Everybody else on the boat had caught coho limits and I got nada but the fish story.

I've spent a lot more money than that to get skunked.

fishing is fishing bro, guide services and charters cannot guarantee fish, what if they arent biting, tides are wrong, full moon so they fed and go full at night, or fish arent simply in the area? Cant blame the guide, its fishing, do you see other people catching fish EVERY time they go out, NO, were fishing salmon in the ocean, not trout in a pond

ive booked steelhead trips with GREAT guides on the cowlitz and been skunked before, with top guides on the top steelhead river in the state, and caught nothing, its not the guides fault, the fish were not biting, it happens and if your gonna be a fisherman you gotta learn to deal with it or dont fish

If you're on a larger charter where you're mooching, you're going to have less of a chance of getting fish if you were on one of those types of charters. It's better to go on the smaller charters where it's just your party and you're trolling. But yeah the fish are biting. My dad and his friends have been out to Jeff's Head the past 3 days and have gotten keepers and lost a lot more, I'll make a report about that tomorrow after maybe they go out in the morning and I go out in the evening.

I have never actually been on a charter, I am an ex-comm AK Gulf fisherman and hatcheries out of Prince Williams. IF i was to EVER pay for a charter, i FULLY AGREE w/ you. for that price, you best get SOMETHING....worst case, maybe they dump some crab-traps AND have some back-up takehome fish for your money. Sad to hear about your experience....You def did NOT get what you paid for!!! Hope you wrote them up on YELP. That site is awesome for letting others know a true experience, GOOD or BAD.
