Spectacular day on the water. First off, it was my dad's first day on salt. After years of coming up blank when fishing together, he and I both nailed the silvers. He even pulled in his first Dungeness (West of Jetty Island). Mine was a hatchery ~5 lbs and his was a 10+ lb native silver. We let his go back after a good fight! Both were caught on chartreuse dyed herring (Mike's Brine) - Army Truck and Race Car flashers. We left at dawn and both fish were caught between 9:30 and 10 am on the incoming tide. Perfect weather, great day with my dad. Awesome to get schooled by him one more time!

Thanks for all the posts you guys are putting up and good luck out there.

Brian

I assume you released your dad's native silver because you wanted to, not because you thought you had to, right?

Nope, I'm a complete idiot. I was confused over the rules and thought all natives were supposed to be released (paranoid more like it). A friend of mine keyed me in to that about an hour later. That said, I hope that fish makes it to the Sky to make more!!!
