First attempt at a late afternoon into evening fishing off of Shilshole. Launched a few minutes past 5pm, line in the water by half past 5. Same general set up; two poles, herring tipped with green hoochie on one, Ace High on the other. By 6 we had a few poles pop off the down rigger but at 6:30 one of the poles got hammered, ripped 10-15 feet of line before I got to the pole. As my buddy reeled up, no fish and my rig snapped just past the flasher. I wish I would've seen what the heck snapped 20lb line like dental floss...

We ended with one 4lber and threw back 2 small salmon. Maybe 6 fishing boats on the water and twice that many sail boats. I may go out tomorrow morning just to feel a few fish on my line before I fly to the east coast for a few days.
