After work, drove up to Pic Nic Point to fish the incoming tide (high at about 7:00PM). Casting a chartreuse Dick Nite. Wife did some reading and soaked sun while I fished. Arrived at 3:30, only fisherman on beach. Water full of Eel Grass and Sea Lettuce, impossible to make full retrieve without bringing in a total salad bar. 8 to 10 more fishermen (and women) joined me as high tide neared, mostly fly-fishers. Saw evidence of Searun Cutthroat along beach (small baitfish erupting from the water and fish swirling on the surface). Saw only one fish break the surface which was probably a Coho. By 5:00 the flotilla of boats out front had closed to within 200 yards from the beach, so fish were in the area, but saw nothing caught... except salad... lots of salad!! Left about 6:00. No better way to spend a late afternoon and relax after work! PTL!
