I am writing that all the stories your hear about Williams Lake is true. The fishing is nothing short of spectacular. I took my brother(Ryan) and his friend (Brad) out there for a short afternoon attack on the trout. I cast out my 4 and a half foot ultra light rod with 2 lb test loaded with a gob of power bait and briefly propped it up to move my seat closer. I turned around to pick up my rod just in time to see it shotgun out into the lake. It hadn't even been in the water 10 seconds and a hungry trout decided to take my rod trolling with him. I pouted around for a few minutes before I went to the car and got another rod( I can never leave the house with less than three different rod/reel combo's). Soon I was back at it, this time not letting go of my rod for anything. It only took about 20 seconds this time to nail a 14" rainbow/cutt cross. What a beautiful fish. I caught a couple more within the next ten minutes and then reeling in from a missed strike I thought I snagged up but it was slowly coming up. Soon I noticed some fishing line attached to my hook. I reached down and grabbed it and low and be hold that trout that was trolling my rod around had caught me. I grabbed the rod out of the water and proceeded to land a nice 21" rainbow. Made my day!!! Well to shorten this up we ended up with our limits within 1 1/2 hours. It really didn't matter what you threw at the fish, they gobbled it up. Just make sure you are about 5-6 ft off the bottom. Tight Lines!!!!
