My better half and I spent the weekend in Copalis to celebrate our two year going steady anniversary. I hit Roosevelt Beach for redtail surfperch both Saturday and Sunday. I spent about two hours on (well, in) the water both days. Saturday the weather was lousy and the surf was so-so. I got four, and accidentally dropped the only big one back in the drink-- doh! I did catch a big dungeness crab, that I dragged in on the razor clam neck that I was using for bait.

Sunday the weather was great (in the evening) and the surf was much better. I got seven, and most were decent sized. Nothing to write home to mom about, but three were in the pound-plus range. I used razor clam necks for bait the whole time, two ounces of lead, and 12 pound test. The picture is my catch from Sunday. Great weekend!
