Two of my fishing buddies called me about 9PM on Friday and canceled the trip. They said that have stuff to do but I know it was because of a not favorable weather forecast. So, I called a guy who never fished in salt water before.
Next day, Saturday, we left my house about 4AM and launched the boat about 4:30 from Mukilteo ramp. Came to the spot by 6AM and started to fish by 6:30 after I tied everything for my friend and rigged bait to attract the buts.
I got couple sharks during 15minutes and my buddy caught a huge one that came off at the boat. 7AM I got my 25LB halibut and we were ready to get another one. However, sharks and flounders were bothering eating 4 packs of herring. I decided to relocate about 11 AM when current changed and became strong. We pulled our rods and anchor slowly drifting. We dropped our rods trying to use the same setup while drifting when I realized we are drifting too fast and pulled my rod. But my buddy said he got stock and the line was pulling off his reel. So, I started the motor and moved toward the snag while my friend was reeling in. I was surprised when I saw a halibut by our boat on the end of my friends line :)
I quickly speared it and we called it a day with two twin halibuts in our boat before noon.
Surprisingly, weather was super good all the time, no wind or waves at all. My friends who canceled the trip probably were disappointed when found out there was no rain, 15-20mph wind, and 2 feet waves, forecasted the day before but biting halibut. :)

Wow! Congrats on your success. We didn't have the same, but the weather sure was terrific.
