Fished two days.
Saturday mostly trolled Brown's Pt. zero bites.
Sunday morning woke up to a motor that wouldn't trim down... so delay of game for about 2hrs until I manned up and just decided to reach below the water line (we moored/slept overnight), find the manual release, and manually trim the OB down.
then game on.
we trolled all legal known areas along ruston to just round the pt well within view of the bridge. only heard of one guy who caught one, but lost it at the boat. came in around 5pm with a great sunburn and wdfw fish checker said for 44 boats so far he's only seen 6 caught. so the bite has slowed back to normal.... our downriggers popped a few times, but I have no reason to suspect bites.
also plunked by the Silver Cloud for a handful of flat fish just to prove to my crew that the captain was capable of spilling blood on his boat.
fished with downriggers between 60-135ft deep (depending on time of day and where we marked fish) using green dodgers and hoochies of different colors.
side note: I've been wanting to stay at Dock Street Marina for a while. I have now, and its a very nice facility. It is secure, the staff is friendly, the docks are large, stable, and clean. There is shore power if you need it (I dont have it yet), secure and clean showers, bathrooms, and laundry facilities, and you are about 1-2 blocks away from starbucks, The Swiss pub, spaghetti factory, etc. stay the night on your boat and fish the next morning :)
