So this will be a short one~ now I know how this can go with one day being hot the next dead but couldn't let that deter me away from my quest of back to back King days!! Stano came along again and this time we brought his friend Edgar ( if you can't get a women or child in the boat, get a guy who has never caught a salmon before, right?)

Well that didn't work as we launched at 5am this time and did exactly what we did yesterday and not a single bump. Then tried a few different set ups but all the same result. Called it a day at 8:45 so that will probably be it for me on the salt until I get back in town at the end of next week. Have to go to Napa, CA for me nieces wedding on Tuesday so look forward to reading some reports on what I am missing while I am away and be jealous! lol

I told my friends I'd come out Sunday if they didn't get any on Saturday 'cause it seems that there is always that "should have been here yesterday". That is what happened to you and friend Edgar.

so I was looking at your reports and tides, you started earlier on your skunky day and the tide change started an hour later. What time did thefish start biting on the first day? I'm wondering if that tide change/incoming tide is the sweet spot and if maybe that played a role.

low tide on the 16th 5:45am
low tide on the 17th 6:45am

just curious. I struggle enough as it is in south sound so I'm trying to eliminate variables, lol

Good point Dustin, all 3 fish on Tuesday the 16th were caught between 6 and 7am but as King fishing goes that 1st light bite is always good. I didn't mention that on the 17th around 5:30 a guy was coming in with his limit but didn't get a chance to talk to him. He did signal he caught them south. So I was sort of expecting some sort of action between 8 and 9 but I believe what happens this early is that they come through in pods and if you just happen to be in the right place at the right time at the right depth you'll get a fish! I have always done well at Redondo an hour before low tide and up to 2 hours after tide change and work the incoming tide.
