Rob and I set out yesterday morning in search of a new crabbing spot, havent been out since opening day. Dropped 2 pots up north, then headed south to find a spot to drop 2 more. Now with the pots soaking we thought we would try our luck at trying to catch some fish. We tried everything from herring, hoochies, coho killers and didnt get a bite! Rob then put on a cop car spoon and the bites started happening. he hooked a nice chinook and when he got it to the side of the boat we saw the little fin and had to let him go "BUMMER" I then put on a army truck colored spoon and got a few hits. We just couldnt get them to the boat without them spitting the hook! At least there was a few fish out there and some action while waiting for the crabs. We fished through the tide change and went to go see what was in our pots. Pulled south pots first, got 2 huge dungees and 3 nice rock with a ton we had to let go. Figured good start and headed north! The next 2 pots were packed full, they had 7 huge keeper dungees! With a cooler full of crab the sun came out and it was the end of another great day! We used salmon and kokanee carcasses in 60 to120 ft of water with just one 5 to 6 hr soak.
