I didn't expect much today since I didn't hit the water till 1pm, but my wife and little boy both wanted to go out and a day on the water in 80+ degree temp is better than a day just about anywhere else!
Did have one really nice take down on the downriggers. I was in about 120ft of water north of the pier, I saw a school on my fish finder at 60-75ft, promptly moved my dr ball to 65 and just a moment later tap tap tap bam! took all of about 20 seconds or less for either my knot to fail (oops!) or the line to snap, I'm just going to say bad knot.
Nothing else the rest of the day but I did see quite a few caught from guys on the pier. I dont know how y'all rigged it but I noticed nets dropped all the way to the water than pulled back up. pretty tricky stuff!
the strike I had was on a white dodger + pink squid hootchie combo.
I also ran a pink coho killer behind a dodger with no hits that I noticed.
....but it was 3pm I mean...
