Decided to check out Port Susan again after getting skunked on Thursday. The pinks are definitely making their way to these parts of the water. Fished a pink buzz bomb for about 30 min with no hits and my last cast before switching to a jig it's fish on. Just as fast as that fish was on it was off. Another cast and SNAG, POP there goes my buzz bomb. Tie a pink hoochie on to a quarter ounce jig head and immediately fish on. Nice buck as you can see in the pic. After this catch I lost about 2 more fish and landed a nice coastal cuttie. Not too bad of a day, but will be much better in a few weeks! Keep at it all you avid anglers and TIGHT LINES!

please read the regs before keeping a cutt like that. Catch and release, barbless fishery only for them.

Thanks for the heads up, I had no idea. I pretty sure I read the pamphlet up and down for area 8-2 but I guess I need to check again,

I just did my research and the area I was fishing is considered Ebey Slough. I checked the regs for that and up to 2 trout can be retained. So the area was misinformed.

I updated the sub-location. Not sure where Ebey Slough falls under, I guess river? Anyway, location noted.

I think I seen you out there, congrats!!!!. but Ebey slough starts at the rail road bridge in Marysville. there is a min. size of 14" too That is still considered 8-2

The regs on this confused the heck out of me initially. Basically, the Snohomish River and all sloughs are both freshwater and saltwater (8-2). The demarcation line is the railroad bridge that crosses each body of water. As mentioned previously, saltwater allows for zero retention of trout and fresh water allows up to two trout, minimum 14". Of course, both areas have there own tackle regulations too. I threw together a graphic of the area to better display where the two zones are.

Thanks for the info fellas. FishCaker that map really helps alot. This area is very tricky but I have a better understanding of the boundary lines of the slough and 8-2. All in all what a great area to fish. I look forward to fishing for the pinks here in a few weeks. Once again thank you guys for the clarification!
