From reports it didn't sound like the rivers were hot yet, so we decided to give the salt a try. Launched out of Shilshole at about 6AM and headed NW over to the east side of Indianola where we dropped crab pots and started trolling. Trolled all different depths from there up to Kingston and back until about 2pm. Only saw 1 fish caught - too far away to see what it was. We marked a lot of fish but none of them wanted what we were offering. Only one guy on the boat had any luck, a few flounder and a nice 15# rock (not a rock fish - a rock). We were able to bring home a few dungees so at least we didn't come home empty handed.
When we got in, the fish checker said there had only been 13 chinook and about 30 pinks caught all day. So with the number of boats out there, we weren't the only ones that got skunked.
