Well my buddy Moose and I had some time to fish 5 out 7 days this week, only taking Thurs and Sat off. And traded Moose for my Wife for the evening Sunday fishing. Really beat down. So here is what we ended up with. Monday and Tuesday we lost four fish at the back of the boat as they surfaced or got close to the boat. Coho and pinks. Changed hooks every other time. Wednesday started off with a nice hatchery king about 9 lb in the boat! Finally. Hour later a better fighting fish and peeling way more line and putting up a great fight for about 5/6 minutes spit hook as it was close to surface. Nothing Friday and Sunday had a good fight for about a minute but I didnt realize the drag was tight and snap, fishes first pull was feeling good but the line snapped before I could back off the drag. Just the perfect ending to a crappy week of fishing. i think I need some time in the mountains before going back to the sound. Area 11 wins this round and lost a downrigger ball and a crab pot with 10 lb weight in it, two bouys, and right next to my other pot which had less weight, seems fishy to me, never lost a pot and they were dropped at high tide with plenty of slack on the leaded line. We will see how long I can stay away.
