I was suppose to be at the launch at 5:30am but I was a bit late. I didn't know that they were working on some freeway entrances.
We crossed the bar just fine and went out west about 22 miles to 300 feet deep. Started trolling in the rough choppy water and the other person fishing, Jim, gets a brown rockfish using a Cookies and Cream tailwagger. This was before I even got out. I had tied up a new lure I wanted to try. I am reaching to place the line into the clip when I get a fish on and it is pulling on the line and Cami can see it splashing around. Then it is off. Glen figured it was a Coho. So I would say that it is worth a try again. Jim got another brown rock fish. He was fishing 150 feet down in 300 feet of water. Then he gets a small halibut that he releases. I had put on a Zebra Mojo which brought in a wild Coho. We had to release several Coho. After Jim got that halibut. I switched to a 3.5 inch Cookies and Cream that I had bought. I really believe what is on my website: “We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. I am a person who loves the battle and to win! It isn't about fishing it is about catching!!! When we loose, it is all about fishing. :-)” So I brought out another weapon. Let's get this done!
Jim got a 18 pound King and I got a hatchery Coho that was 7 lb. 4 oz. Got a shaker King and a 8 lb. 3 oz King. At one point the cable on one of the downriggers hit the kicker prop and ping it was gone. We were going to stack rods but it was so rough that plan was scrubbed. Jim had fallen in the boat so Glen was telling us to sit and he would do it all. I had to hang on tight just to stay on the seat. When we could see the weather front coming in Jim said we had better call it a day and head in. Everyone agreed.
When I cleaned the fish after I got home there was one 9 inch fish in the stomach of the Coho and 3- 6 inch ones in the King. Another great trip with F24.

Hey Toni, I was out there tues. Sounds like I fished just north of where you did on wed. Solid fog the whole 23 miles each way for me. LOL Flat water at least up to noon when I finished for the day. I had a whale and a pod of killer whales to watch while I fished/caught and released more native coho than you could shake a stick at. I did manage to pick up my 2 kings before my hands cramped up so bad I felt it prudent to call it a day. I didn't pick up any of the bottom fish you mentioned but they are out there. Nice report and tight lines! Mark
