I went out on a charter out of Bremerton today, they're right down the road from my house and they do "open boat sundays" so I figured why not. We had about 10 customers total. We went just up north of eagle harbor and started mooching for pinks and coho's, and then stopped at a few stops south along the way to mooch off the east end of Bainbridge.

We caught about 10 flounder near "the rock" south of eagle harbor.

We then pulled back into Sinclair inlet and tried trolling to catch a Chinook using deep six's, with no luck.

They set a crab pot off the south end of Bainbridge when we were heading out and picked it up as we were heading back into in to Sinclair inlet. We pulled one legal and 3 dink dungee. They grilled the flounder with Parmesan cheese and butter, and steamed the one dungee for us to share.

I'm having a hard time deciding if I will go back or not. I know it's not their fault for not catching salmon, it didn't seem like any of the boats around us were catching fish. But everyone including the crew gathered at 7, we didn't leave the dock till closer to 7:30, and then we stopped to put on fuel. It seems like everything should have been taken care of before the customers got there the crew onboard, and the boat fueled up. We didn't hit our first stop till after 9am.

I want to take my fiancé and her mom out salmon fishing in late Sept, anybody know of a decent charter boat?

If you want a charter boat in the sound I'd go with All Star charters. They're in Seattle so don't know if that works for you, but they'll have their boat together before you arrive and they'll get you out and right to fishing at first light. You will find them listed as All Star Fishing Charters on FB or at http://www.allstarfishing.com. Good luck on your next charter trip!

I'd recommend Fish FInders at www.fishingseattle.com

Captain Carl is super professional and a kick ass fisherman. He will put you on the fish and make sure you have a good time. Best charter I have ever been on by far.

Another guy you might want to try is Mike Jamboretz, of Jambo's Sportfishing. Right now he's still in Neah Bay and probably KILLING it as always, but after Labor Day he brings his BEAUTIFUL 37' Delta back to the sound. If you're ever looking for a charter out of Neah Bay then he is the man and limits of kings are nearly a given day in and day out. All I know is other guides and fishermen who spend the whole summer out there call him for info. So if you're thinking coho and pinks close to home, then he'll be back here within a few weeks and is the most knowledgable and professional guide I know, but there are a number of reputable guides out there. When I go with Mike it is a well oiled machine and the boat is ready to rock. All the prep work for your trip was done the night before after the previous day's clients have gone home. Also give a call to Three Rivers Marine. They have some resources that may be useful to you.
