Got back from family vacation yesterday and read all the promising reports of the Pink run, so bugged my wife until she let me out of unpacking duties for a few hours. Hit up the shore in MA 11 from 1:30 till 3pm. Tide was high and still coming in. A few guys fishing when I got there. The guy next to me reported that it'd been ok fishing with consistent hits down the shore and a few landed. Between he and his friend, they had one.
About my third cast, I saw a fish surface out from shore, so launched my BB towards it. Sure enough had a hit, but didn't stick. More guys were hooking up down the shore, so thought it was a going to be a good time. Saw about 6 fish landed in a few minutes and then the bite all but died. More people were showing up and for the next 45 minutes didn't see hardly any action with just a few landed down the shore randomly over that time. Then just before 3pm I hooked one not too far out and landed it. Bonked a bright hen. About ten minutes later I hit another hen a little larger than the first. Good fighter and managed to bonk it too. Packed it in shortly after that. Not on fire, but a successful trip. Saw a seal or two cruising the shore line and a couple boats trolling, but didn't see any fish being pulled in.
