Launched out of Shilshole about 11:30, an hour later than intended. Goal, score a blackmouth. Weather was nice, no rain, no wind, no falling trees, no neighbors crying about the tree on their car!

Anyways we used various gear from Shilshole to a little north of Carkeek park. Somebody had told me to use a coho killer (Irish flag) with a 40 to 42 inch leader. Well that was my setup for most of the afternoon and it did work. 3 blackmouth during the day. 19, 20, 20 1/2.... and a 9 lb Chum - my first ever. Fish looked like a Coho at first (yeah I forgot about narrow tail but the tail had spots on the upper half so) and fought well kind of like a coho, a wee bit like a chinook, but it was fun.

Would have been a 5 had the chum been a black mouth but I'll take any day of fishing over the options.
