Arrived at lake about 0800. We were to meet an Englishman, John, I had met on the net. We waited at the main entrance while he was over at the launch site. We finally got together and put the boat in a little before 0900. The water temp was 51F to start and 54F when we left.
We began trolling with willow leaf pop gear and wedding rings. We could hardly keep the dinky 9-11 inchers off our lines. We were after Triploids. We made two passes trolling, and then settled into our Honey Hole still fishing with "Power Bait". We had five dinky bleeders that we had to keep. We caught five trips 16-18" and fat. We also caught two fish that were too big to be planters and to small to be Trips. A good time was had by John, his first trout and the Trips. really thrilled him. Good photos were exposed, but Mt Rainier would not clear up totally, but can be made out well enough for establishing purposes. John will go back to England happy.
