I took a coworker, Oklahoma boy out to go crabbing. As usual I drop 4 pots the night before, and then hope for no thieves.
Next AM we picked them up. 1st pot was only 4 crabs, a little suspicious. But it's a goofy pot, don't like it, so maybe that was legit. Crabs were all exactly 6-1/4" I don't like to keep the ones that fall on the line. I've experienced Johnny-Law fuss at the dock.
2nd pot, lots of very small crab, maybe 1-2,keepers. 3rd pot again many small 4" crab and females, 1 keeper.
4th pot was the lifesaver. Full of males, and walked away completing our 2 person limit.
Dragged the salmon gear around with no luck for awhile.
Fish counter dude said only 1 coho had come in by 11:00 AM.
My take on the crabbing in my usual area this year is there are many/many undersized crab, regardless of sex. 3 years ago I had a year hitting all keepers in the 7"+ range. Well, things come and go.
