Combo report from 08/15-08/17; Friday, brother & I launched out of the Edmonds Marina around on the last day of kings around 0530, headed just N of ferry docks to troll and check pots. Had 1 limit only, so rebaited and started trolling. Marking fish, but nothing to show. Trolled back towards the marina, jammed packed, marked some fish but never saw a net out, pretty soon all the boats dissipated, looks like people just fished because others were there, callled it a day after 1300. Brother calls me up at 1900 to give it 1 more shot at kings, of course I said yes. Shot out to check the pots, now we have our other limit, trolled back towards the marina. Brothers pole gets slammed, drag is screaming, fish on!! My brother plays with it maybe 20"-30" then pole recoils up, gone!! Called it a night @ aropund 2030. Saturday, trying for the ever elusive & late silvers,..again, left @ 0530,checked pots, 2 limits, rebaited and left to soak for Sunday. No boats in front of the marina, trolled down towards Possession, saw some scattered boats, everyone we talked to said nada,..called it a day after 1400. Sunday, left a little later, out by 0900, again, trolled towards the pots, 1 had about 15 crabs, 3 keepers, , other looks like someone helped themselves, bait still there, emptied!! Just fries me,...trolled in mid channel all the way towards Possession, fruitless, others around us said the same. Finally on the way back, my clip finally comes off, I grab my pole and line is peeling, whatever it is, it's big and running. I play with it about 30" and gone!! I dang near cried,...called it a day @ 1300,...Can't wait for the silvers,...
