Launched out of everett at 7am and started trolling just south of the Mukilteo ferry. Trolled 2 rods...one with a purple haze flasher and green bucktail and the other with a red racer flasher and green squid. Tipped both rods with herring strips and trolled 3.0-3.5 mph between 40-75ft deep. Hooked up with a fish trolling 60ft deep down the middle right across the shipwreck with the purple haze flasher and green bucktail. Got the fish next to the boat and hooks come loose. Trolled till the kids started to drive me crazy then went shallow to let them bottom fish. Daughter got a few small flonders so she was happy then we started trolling again. Didnt hook up again. We left the launch at about 2:30 and fish checker said about 100 fish for 70 boats so far. Seemed pretty slow out there. I didnt see a single fish netted around me. The seaweed sure was bitting good today though.

Looks like the kids had fun none the less! That's the important thing. I have two boys and regularly overextend their attention spans in my typically vain attempts to limit. I was out Friday morning with a buddy and we went two for two over a four hour span. Not gangbusters by any means. Hang in there and keep taking those kids, its special.

My 5 yr old daughter loves fishing. Its funny when her older cousins want to go fishing, and she is the one showing them how to cast, and jig or bottom fish and she out fishes everyone else in the boat (like yesterday). Its the trolling that drives her and her cousins crazy, especially when the fishing's slow. We will give it another shot next weekend. Hope there's more fish by then.
