July 5 went to Tarboo Lake about 11:00 am, for a lazy day fishing.
Weather was over cast, water temp. was 70 degrees. All in all, a gray
day.
Fishing from shore is always difficult, due to snags. I did get a lot of
hits, mostly bait stealers, but some nice ones too. I was using a #6
hook with 3/4 oz. slip sinker. I used worms medium to small in size.
The end result was 2 nice trout in 2 hours. I did see 5 fish taken by
trolling with flashers, all about 10 in. long. I have been to this lake
6 times and always came home with fish. It is a very good lake for
boats, so so for shore fishing on the small beach, about 35 ft.long.
This is the only place you can fish from the shore.I have tried to hike
around the lake and found no place to get to the lake without a brush
cutter, so bring a boat. The lake is 3 to 5 acers, there is a concrete
out house, but you must hold your breath on hot days, no camping spots,
but has a small boat ramp. It is a good place to relax and gather ones
thoughts and have a little fun fishing.
