Well, since this lake seems to be racking up the reports, most of which are just awesome sounding, I had to try it out. The directions on the web site just suck, so I couldn't find it for at least a half hour, and was a little late. People were already crowding the docks, but everyone was reeeally friendly.
I ended up limiting both days with an assortment of baits consisting of worms, power bait/power eggs, salmon eggs, and a few times I used a jig under a bobber when the wind got real bad on Monday.
The fish can bite real soft sometimes, and I've learned that setting the hooks on these rainbows and browns is nothing like kokanee. With kokanee, its a nice, small yet strong jerk. with rainbows the only people catching fish were just pulling those rods back like there was no tomorrow.
Until the rednecks woke and decided to come in the evening, everyone was real nice. Many "first fish" were caught by kids, and once, the entire dock clapped for a little girl. I think this is probably the most laid back lake I've been to. With everyone so nice, the lake so beautiful, the kids out there even having a good time, I cant wait to go back.
Best of luck to everyone and hope ya get out there.
