I fished 8-2 today. I wasn't going to go out since I thought the weather was going to be lousy. Last night I checked the marine forecast about 11 and it wasn't too bad so I went out by myself, dropped gear at 7:45. Had two take downs, missed one and got a 10 pound female Chum about one mile north of the Wreck. She was bright and she jumped 3 or 4 times. I thought it was a Silver until I got her in the boat and saw the big fins and faint vertical stripes. Good smoker. I was fishing in close 250 feet or so. My neighbor at the marina him and his dad had 2 Chums and 2 Silvers, and lost several. But they were fishing well offshore 600 feet deep or more. Most of the fleet was in close like I was. Prob good I went out since the weather forecast is nasty this week. I went over to the ramp and the fishchecker said she counted only 14 fish for 51 boats. The wind came up pretty good after about 11AM. Seems like at the end of the Silver run I always catch a Chum or two.
