My girlfriend and I tried for the first time fishing off the jetty. We fished the morning and figured the fishing wouldn't be too great due to the huge tide swing, but we wanted to try anyway, after I lost a couple fish in the rocks my girlfriend landed a really nice black bass. After that decided to leave when it really started to pour down rain, was a lot of fun, and sure we will probably try again next weekend!

That is a nice bass! I am going with my in-laws to Ocean Shores this weekend and I was going to try the jetty for the first time. The weather looks super good so far so if the clams do not get fired up again I will be fishing the jetty. I am going to take some jigs, some Berkeley Gulp, and a few other things out there...Any tips would be awesome. Maybe we'll see you out there. We will be there Saturday afternoon and all day on Sunday.

Unfortunately, the South Jetty is out of Westport.

yeah, we were fishing the jetty at Westport, Just using jigs from .5 ounce to 1.5 ounces, with 4 inch grub tail plastics and some shrimp scent. Next time out I think we will get some live sand shrimp, and try some other tactics to entice some more bites. Its a pretty good time fishing the Jetty off of Westport, minus the tough walk on the rocks when its really wet and raining.
