Not bad for a 40 minute soak off of kayak. Ended up with my limit of 6. No dungies which is fine I prefer red rock, however I would of liked 1 dungie.

Yeah, from what I've read it seems that the tribal fishery cleaned them all out. I'd like to see an actual 50% split on resources, but the state doesn't exactly look out for our interests as license buying residents. Bob R

I spoke with a WDFW agent about the tribal crabbing. The tribes were done crabbing about a month ago because they met their quota early; last year they crabbed right up to the July opener. The agent I spoke with said dungeness numbers are up 30% from last year in MA 11. Hood Canal is up too. That is why the tribe was done early: good numbers of crab. If this information holds true the opener in Commencement Bay should be good. I am in a kayak as well and I just bought another pot after talking with the agent about the numbers.

We crabbed just south of Zittel's towards the end of last summer and again last weekend. TONS of undersized Dungeness. No keepers but got some Red Rock. Unless the Dungeness are headed to deeper water as they grow, I'm thinking the Nisqually Tribe are cleaning them out.

Did see the tribe unloading 1200 lbs of Dungeness off of their dive boat Saturday. I guess they do that every day. Not sure if they're all coming off planted beds or what.
