Did some running around the lake and found most of the fish congregating in deeper holes. Nothing biting though. This was our third trip to American Lake where we have caught a few smaller fish in the past but have had no success with the bigger fish. Lot's of fish on the finder and many were big ones! Talked to another guy who was fishing the Ft. Lewis Recreation dock and he said he caught three nice rainbows the day before on Garlic Powerbait from the fishing dock. However, he too caught nothing this day.. Tried about everything we could think of including all colors of Powerbait, nightcrawlers, grubs, trolling wedding ring type lures tipped with live bait behind flashers, etc.
I'm watching other reports here of you successful anglers to get some new ideas on fishing this lake during March and Early April which is when we usually hit American, so keep filing those reports!
