Pretty slow for us today. Launched at Everett at about 6:15AM, gear down at 1/2 way between Mukilteo and Shipwreck, mid channel, by 6:45. First fish hit at 7:15 at 35'--a small coho. Continued down to Shipwreck, and further south, where we spent a couple hours. 9:15 the second coho hit--a nice 6# or so hen, at 55'. Moved in closer to shore--about 150' of water--where we were marking lots of fish. Missed a couple then about noon picked up a couple pinks. One was big enough to keep, the other was released.
That was it, except for LOTS of 6-10" shakers. Finally pulled the plug at around 2:00. It got Hot out there today! We didn't see many fish caught, and the 4 or 5 boats we talked to had NADA. Fish checker said approx 80 salmon for 80 boats.
We switched combos several times but here's what worked on the 3 we kept:
Small silver: Hologram Q-Cove Flasher with homemade blue "GrandSlam Bucktail" copy.
Large silver: Old school Abe and Al #2 dodger with Purple Haze hoochie.
Pinks: Red Racer Flasher with "real" green GrandSlam Bucktail.
All leaders at about 32 inches.
