Excited to get my boat back from the shop (in 4 weeks!)--re-done floor (had delaminated from a previous fix)...headed toward Salmon Bank yesterday morning...1/2 way across buddy says "hey, water coming in"...oh shit; turn around, turn pump on & head back to ramp. Sure enough, the guys who fixed the floor cut through the bottom of the boat in 3 spots. Not mad at that, mad my day may be done. Found Marine Hardware & Supply in Anacortes (amazing place)...told me 5 min. epoxy would get me by. Sanded & applied. Drove back to Wash Pk..waited another 20 min. Launched & no problems all day--amazing bandaid. Ran to the flats for the remainder of the ebb tide...not much there....ran to a popular flood tide location..bait thick from point to point (never have seen that there). For all the bait very slow (full moon maybe)..that said at 2, this bad boy jumped on my blue green 3.5" "seahawk" spoon (that new blueish colored spoon) knew it had shoulders...heavy. Came up & under the boat..when it came out, we about crapped (huge & hatch!)..Into the net & the end to a somewhat crazy day. Stuffed with 3-4" herring... Hard to judge the day...slow fishing but one biggie! 1 for slowness; 5 for size!!
