I personally would not want to eat crabs from these areas either.

Although it was raining, wind was low so I decided to try my first attempt at crabbing. Got my inflatable Mariner 4 with 3hp and dropped a pot in 60' near the launch. Prior to this, I spent countless days researching reports and forums enough to know not to get my expectations up in this area, but it's close to home so why not. Looked for a sandy area in hope of avoiding rock crabs and dropped a Danielson with a chicken leg and some halibut I had getting a little old in the deep freezer. Soaked for an hour and pulled a pot with four under sized dungies. No keepers, but more relieved to have gotten anything than disappointed by an empty pot. Unfortunately as I was leaving I noticed a warning against pulling shellfish from this area due to biotoxin. It's easy to miss as it is posted on a post near the train tracks as your leaving the launch. I hadn't seen any warning on the Dept. site or any other site, and the other people crabbing there makes me question the sign. Regardless, I wouldn't have been comfortable feeding the crabs to my family after seeing the notice.
