Fished Sekiu from Wednesday to yesterday. three rods, me, my son in law and his dad. Pretty slow. We got two last Thursday but had to run all the way to Tatoosh Island at Neah to do it. Rest of the time we fished about 50/50 between the Caves/Eagle Bay versus Slip Pt/Coal Mines. The bite did pick up on Saturday some but still slow. Wound up with 9 on and 7 in the net. 3 Blackmouth 24-25", 3 marked fish 12 to 16 and one wonderful unmarked fish that had to be low 30's. I hesitate to call that a wild fish since IMO, a lot of the so called wild fish are from BC, the Canucks don't fin clip Chinooks. I think it was Sunday, 22 boats on the docks at Van Ripers, fishchecker said 8 fish taken and we got 3 of them, so I guess we cant bitch too much. Tried everything, but most were caught on an Irish Crème Kingfisher, but change the hooks to 3/0 Mustad Ultrapoint Siwash or similar.

I've been fishing CQ since 1984 and this was one of the slowest trips. Maybe just late run?
