Started fishing around noon with a spoon right above the North Fork campground. Caught a few seven inchers, then moved on with a white/black rooster tail. There was a good pool *some where* up there that held some good bows.
Earlier this month I started fishing up at Cottonwood with spoons and spinners and caught a bunch between 5 and 11 inches. Unfortunatly, the best way to get to the pools here is right through campsite 24. Usually the poeple camped there are nice enough to let you through, especialy since they're usualy anglers.
Spruce Grove looks to be a good fishing spot too. I tryed fly fishing there, which I botched badly. There were two other people fishing there, one with flys the other spinning. Not sure how well they did, but some one is always fishing there, so I guess it's good.
North Fork is the end of the pavement, Cottonwood is 4 miles on gravel, which they just re-graveled so it's much better than before, although it still takes awhile. When you add this to the paved 32 miles, it takes around 50 minutes to get to Cottonwood from the mouth of the river. At all of these campgrounds the water is low enough to wade pretty much anywhere with only getting just above the knee wet.
At any rate, it was fun and I'll be back.
