After reading the report posted mid December with bright Chum, my brother and I drove down from Bremerton to give it a try. Arrived at the 6th ave bridge about 2 pm and the water was a little cloudy but not bad. Fished at the bridge and up a little. Less than dozen people around fishing and no one catching (except snags). Been using Aerodifters this season with good success. Might try again in a week or two. Any tips or suggestions about fishing this river for this time of year (or any other time of year?)

My buddy and I were down there also from Bremerton. We were bouncing around in the big green F-150. We went around the corner away from everybody else to fish. It's great to have a drift to ourselves, but landing fish is a pain. Anyways, I hooked my first fish of the year. It was a crome-bright hen and the only fish in the 4-5 hours we fished. The fish are there because the nets were loaded, they just needed to bite.
