I am sorry about hitting the Yakima River as the location. I could not find the Columbia River in the Benton County index. The fish were actually caught at Crow Butte on the Columbia. What a day! My fishing buddy was my dad and we got to the water at 11:30 am and had our limit of smallies by 1:00. Keepers ranged from 1-2 lbs. Hit tubes, smoke colored grubs, double blades, crappie jigs and night crawlers. Very active and aggresive. Weather was overcast and a light breeze coming from the north. Ideal fishing weather. After we caught our limit, fished for walleye in about 12-15 ft of water using bottom walkers. Couldn't keep the perch off the night crawlers. Finally hooked a nice 3lb walleye. Kept five nice perch for breakfast. Last stop was a beaver hut we noticed from the road driving in to the boat launch. Caught some nice bluegill, some smaller crappie that we released after the picture. Bite was light and couldn't hook them with the 1/32 jig head. Switched to 1/80 and had a blast with them. Out of the water at 6:30 pm and home in time for a nice smorgy fish dinner. Just a largemouth away from a grand slam. NIce Memorial Day memories!! Crow Butte is hot right now, saw a lot of people catching fish!!!
