Took the family out to middle fork. Found a great spot on the river, slight rain coming down and cloudy. I fished a black/ white rooster tail and got a few bites, but when I got them near shore realized they were all in the 4-6" range. Very small but the hole I was in was great. Made for a very cheap outing and got everyone out of the house. I never was able to land any of those small guys, I imagine my hook may have been to big. The only thing we did catch was a small frog on shore. I bet he would have made a great bait, if bait was allowed that is. I figured I'd post the picture to give someone an idea of a possible food source. I started wondering if a plastic frog, suspended, in the same color might show results. Maybe for another trip.
All selective gear rules followed.
