We were on the lake at false dawn. Launched from Mercer Island. Headed for Gates' Place. Fished there for about an hour only caught white fish. The darn things are fairly good sized, 13-15" but so puny they can't pull the line loose from the release clip. So you drag them around thinking you are fishing for cutts, and only discover them when you check your bait about every 20 minutes or so. We them fished both sides of the bridge caught one 19.25" trout on the calm side, them fished the choppy side and caught three more about the same size.
Inspections of their stomachs revealed that they seem to have one course meals, e.g., one fish was full of
periwinkles, one full of small snails, and the others full of three to four inch perch. We were glad
they decided to have wedding rings for dessert. We still have not caught any Cutts.
