Got to the river about 7:30am and starting fishing by the upper boat launch. Threw drift gear for awhile and after losing several setups I was going start using a float and jig. But then I thought I would just throw a spoon on and see what happened. Started trowing the spoon into the soft spots of the fast water then let it drift into the deeper water. After about 15 minutes I hooked a nice hatchery fish. Saw one other fish taken with a float and jig in the pool below the hatchery and that was about it we left around 11:30.
