Went on the north fork of the stilly this morning, no one fishing of course. started out at c-post and caught two nice trout, released them, i am looking for bigger fish. i seen a couple of steelys laying in the hole but the moved outta the way for everything, had one follow a spinner back in but that was all the action there.

so we went up river to fortson hole and walked in for the highway. there was two other guys there and the one had a nice chrome native bucks on the bank, he had tried to clip and burn the fin but you could tell it was cut. right as we got there they left, i could see some fish laying right in the eddy up by the corner so i threw some jigs under floats to them and had one on for a couple seconds or so. i had my drag cranked down some how. so after kicking myself i moved down to the deeper part of the hole and back bounced some corkies and sandshrimp. i caught a beautiful cutthroat. threw it back, then i seen two fish laying in the lower part of the hole. no luck. so i moved down around the corner again and threw some spinners into the next run down there and caught a 25 inch native, nice long lean fish. i have never seen a native fish up here. so i am thinking the few that were left are starting to make a comeback!

didn't take anything home and i left the camera in the truck, going out again tomorrow
