Checked out the 116th later this afternoon, and saw about 4 other anglers there. Didn't see anyone with fish, and I sure didn't catch anything but snag, snag and more snag. Lost 2 spinning lures and bunch of corky and yarn set up. The river is still little high and dirty, visible approx. 6-12". I think I'm going to give the river a break until I hear report of people actually catching something.

Depends on where you're coming from. Here are directions from WA-512.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=WA-512+E&daddr=47.182888,-122.25028+to:116th+St+E&hl=en&geocode=FTanzwIdThqz-A%3B%3BFYV3zwIdawu3-A&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=14&via=1&sll=47.170694,-122.257662&sspn=0.029816,0.076904&ie=UTF8&ll=47.171219,-122.259121&spn=0.029816,0.076904&t=h&z=14

Fished there from 1 to 3 with no takes drifting eggs, pink worm, and corkie and yarn. Very fishable, but lots of snags and lost quite a few rigs.

Nice pics. The first one is where I was standing and sunk up to my knees in that little mud island. I'm glad I had hip waders on or Ida been miserable for the two hours I was there Sunday.

hey king hunter, I saw on your report a couple of days ago that you fly fish. I do also; if you want i can show you some other spots on the river, i have walked from the mouth down to the bike many times. Also, you have to remeber that last year the hatchery only had ten fish return, and zero this year. The Puyallup/Carbon river system are not confindence rivers because no one is catching fish. Just keep in mind that if fish were in there they will bite, If you stop fishing you might miss the one fish in the hole. I try to cover as much water as i can. Every hole I go, I walk up to the top of the hole and " cast, step- cast, step" to the bottom of the hole. If the hole is really nice i will change colors and go back through the hole again, then move to next hole. Don't give up, you will be so excited when you get one.

Hey Procaster,

I actually have never fly fished. I did always wanted to learn though. And thanks for your advice and encouragement. I will keep trying but just need to take a short breather. Hopefully in Feb it will get better. I still have to try the spot Stampie mentioned, but that part of the river is still extremely muddy.
