Started a bit late in the morning about 6 am, such a beautiful clear blue sky day on the water, did not hook up until around 9 am on a slow rapid seam using Bloody Mary plug and back trolling. Was trying to fix the rod holder then WHAM wife's rod got pulled and WHAM ! hook up ! Took about 15 minutes to boat it. Nice native, real shiney and beautiful male, around 13 lbs. No one else we saw got anything for the rest of the drift. Took a bunch of nice pictures then release him back wishing to get more hook up later on ,but nothin after that great one. Was my wife's first steelhead, beginners luck I guess ? Anyways at the bottom of the river close to the ocean openings we found out there are some people blocking the entrance to the river for fish to go up stream and have been throwing rocks all day scaring and turning them fish around back towards the ocean. Shucks ! what a bunch of s---heads !
