Kirk and I started fishing about 1030, the south end of the lake. We spotted several fish at 40' in 53-65' of water.
I was trolling a ford fender with wedding ring like lure which I tied. Caught 2Lb rainbows. This is the first time I have fished this lake for anything other than perch. I usually stock up on perch during the summer months for those long winter months.. I will admit that one Feb about 4 years ago I did go fishing for
smallmouth bass and caught two 8 and 3 Lb samllies, but for one reason or another never tried to repeat.
Today we also caught a fish we can't decide what it was, it was about 11" pretty silver with bluish cast
and except for only black gums not black mouth looked for all the world lake a blackmouth shaker.
We tossed it back, not knowing if it was legal or not. Also these trout tasted the best I've eaten since I was kid and all trout were wild.
