Tried out the Metzler Park area, 4 other cars there. Took a left from the fork trail and saw 4 other anglers there. 2 drift boats went by different time period (they said no fish yet). Water was emerald green with 3-4 feet visibility. One of the angler was telling stay closer to shore when casting (deeper). Tried float with nightmare jig, pink worm, spoons of different colors, spinners (blue fox and mepps aglia), corky and yarn. NOTHING. Other anglers also went empty handed. I did see a splash, fish maybe? I was there from 8:30am to 11:30 am. On the way out checked out the river under the hwy 18 bridge, saw one angler - he was floating and nothing either. The water did look great there too. Flowing little bit faster there. I know the river closes after today, but when does it open up again?

I am ready to take my boat out...this, us being skunked, has the same comparison when we tried to open up our face to hit those flop shots. I want to fish St. Clair tomorrow..

Kinghunter, the splash was from your nose and it was your booger. You should have tied on a Wooley Bugger. They work very well. Are you fishing here tomorrow? I hope not because the river will be closed. OK? Nice report.
